We have a meaningful week ahead at Somerset! 🧡 This week, we will recognize Orange Shirt Day, observe the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, and complete our first Lockdown Practice of the school year.

THIS WEEK AT SOMERSET

THIS WEEK | Lockdown Practice

• Somerset School will complete our first of two Lockdown Practices this week.
• Practicing emergency procedures helps students and staff become familiar with what to do and supports a calm, safe and predictable response in the event of an emergency.

TUESDAY | Orange Shirt Day

• On September 29, Somerset School will recognize Orange Shirt Day.
• This is an important opportunity for our school community to learn, reflect, and strengthen our commitment to kindness, belonging, and respect.

WEDNESDAY | National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

• There will be NO SCHOOL on September 30 in recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

🎲 CASINO FUNDRAISER | WE NEED YOU!

📅 October 16 & 17, 2026

Our Casino Fundraiser is one of our most important fundraising opportunities of the year, and its success depends on volunteers from our Somerset community.

A few hours of your time can make a BIG difference for our students.

Funds raised through the casino help create meaningful opportunities and experiences that directly benefit students at Somerset School.

CAN YOU HELP?

We need volunteers to fill shifts on Friday, October 16 and Saturday, October 17.

No experience is necessary. Parents, guardians, family members and community supporters are all welcome to volunteer.

👉 Choose a shift and sign up HERE.

Every volunteer matters. Every shift helps. When our community comes together, our students benefit.
