Hello Somerset School Families,

As we enter the first week of March, I would like to extend my warmest wishes to all of our families observing Ramadan. Ramadan is a sacred month observed by Muslims, marked by fasting from dawn to sunset, prayer, reflection, and community. It is a time of spiritual growth, self-discipline, and deepening one's connection. The fast is broken each evening with a meal called iftar, and the month concludes with the celebration of Eid al-Fitr. May this sacred month bring peace, reflection, and joy to you and your loved ones. We understand the importance of this time, and we are committed to supporting our students and families in any way we can.

Safety Update

Bicycles and Helmets

As the weather warms up and we look forward to seeing more families biking to school, we would like to remind everyone of a few important safety guidelines:

  • Please ensure that your child wears a helmet when riding their bike to school for their safety.
  • Remind students to follow all traffic laws and be mindful of pedestrians and vehicles.
  • We provide bike racks at school, but please encourage your child to lock their bike for added security.
  • Consider planning the safest route(s), with your child, when biking to and from school, using the many wonderful pathways in our community.

Hand to Heart,

Nathan Bane
