inform | Somerset School Modular Removal Update
(repeated message from CBE Communications)
Over spring break, the modular units from Somerset School will begin to be relocated to their new home. At this time, you can expect the following:
- The week of March 24 the first two units will be detached from their current location and moved to the furthest north portion of the school field.
- Fencing will be put up around the modulars while they are temporarily on the school field before being moved to their new location at the end of the week.
- During the week of March 31, the same process will take place for the two remaining modulars.
- Once the modular units are removed, the asphalt area will be repaved, and any landscaping remediation will be completed.
Student and staff safety remains our top priority. The construction area will be securely fenced, and all work during school hours will be carefully managed to minimize disruptions.
The removals of the modular units and remediation of those areas are expected to be completed by the end of the current school year.
Thank you for your patience and support as we make these improvements to provide additional learning spaces across our growing school system.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact facilityprojects@cbe.ab.ca.
*NOTE: During this time, the school has prepared a range of plans to adapt, if necessary, to the ongoing work, to minimize disruption and prioritize student safety.
