Hello Somerset Families!

We hope you stayed dry and found some time to rest and enjoy the May long weekend. After a stretch of dry weather, the rain we received was certainly welcome, refreshing our yards, parks, and gardens, and offering a much-needed boost to our environment. It is a good reminder of how connected we are to the natural world around us.

As we return to school this week, we are entering the final stretch of the school year. There is lots of exciting learning still to come, and we are grateful for your continued support as we help students finish the year strong academically, socially, and emotionally.

Here are your Weekly Updates

Victoria Day – No School

Please note that school will be closed on Monday, May 19 in observance of Victoria Day. Classes will resume as usual on Tuesday, May 20.

Victoria Day is a Canadian holiday celebrated on the Monday preceding May 25 in honor of Queen Victoria’s birthday. It has been recognized in Canada since 1845 and is often considered the unofficial start to summer. This day gives us an opportunity to reflect on our country’s history and heritage, and for many, it’s also a chance to spend time with family and enjoy the outdoors.

Rain Barrel Fundraiser!

Help Us Grow & Play

After the rain we had this past weekend, many of us were joking that we could’ve filled a few barrels,  or built an ark! It is the perfect time to announce our “Help Us Grow & Play” Rain Barrel Fundraiser in support of our school’s much-needed playground replacement.

This fundraiser is a win-win: you’ll be helping to conserve water and contributing to a new, safe, and engaging play space for our students. Every barrel sold brings us one step closer to a better playground for our school community!
