What a week we just had! We started things off with an incredible performance by Powwow Mash-Up (Wild Mint Arts). The energy, music, and dance lit up our school as students learned about the beauty and diversity of Indigenous culture through hoop dance, flute, stories, and more. It was inspiring to see our students so engaged and curious, and the dancers’ storytelling was truly unforgettable.

The fun kept rolling with a smooth School Photo Day (a big thank-you to our wonderful volunteers!), and our Subway Fun Lunch was a crowd-pleaser. Be sure to sign up for the next one, A&W Fun Lunch on October 16 (order deadline: October 11).

We capped the week off by coming together as a community for the Terry Fox Run. A huge thank you to everyone who joined us in honoring Terry’s legacy of perseverance and hope.

Here are your Weekly Updates

Just a reminder that there are NO CLASSES for students on Monday, September 29 (Non-Instructional Day) and Tuesday, September 30 (National Day for Truth and Reconciliation).

When we return on Wednesday, October 1, we will recognize Orange Shirt Day together as a school community. We invite all students to wear an orange shirt as a way of honoring survivors, remembering the children, and committing to “Every Child Matters.”

It will be a meaningful way to come back together after the long weekend.

Annual Volunteer Registration Form

We’re excited for upcoming field trips and activities, and we’d love your help to make them a success. The first step is to complete your Annual Volunteer Registration Form (click HERE). Once that’s done, you’ll be ready to join in the fun and help create memorable experiences for our students!

For the safety of our students and staff, this form is required each school year for anyone volunteering with curricular or extra-curricular activities including field trips, volunteer drivers, or students volunteering outside their own school.

Please note: volunteers do not include guest speakers, presenters, visitors, parents helping only their own child (an attendant), or school council members in their official role. All information collected is strictly confidential.
