With the first week under our belt, we are off to a strong start. Students settled in quickly, and we had a very successful fire drill practice. We also navigated two indoor recesses due to Air Quality concerns, and our students showed great flexibility and resilience.

Fun Lunch is Back! 

Don’t miss the fun and tasty Fun Lunch experience, organized by our School Council. It’s a great way for students to enjoy a special meal and families to support our school community. 

Please note: Orders must be placed by the Saturday before each Fun Lunch date. Once the cut-off passes, late orders cannot be accepted, so be sure to get your order in on time. 

The list of Fun Lunch Dates for 2025–2026 can be found below. 

  • September 25 – Subway Fun Lunch  (Cut-off: September 20) 
  • October 16 – A&W  Fun Lunch  (Cut-off: October 11)

School Council | Friends of Somerset School

Our first School Council and Friends of Somerset School meeting for the 2025–2026 school year will take place on Thursday, September 11 at 6:15 p.m. All parents and guardians are warmly invited to attend. It’s a wonderful opportunity to connect, share ideas, and support our school community. 

Getting involved helps strengthen the partnership between home and school. Your participation ensures families have a voice in decisions, contributes to enriching school programs, and builds a stronger sense of belonging for every student.

Safe Dismissal | Walking Home Independently 2025-26 

Would you like your child to walk home independently at dismissal?

As part of our commitment to a welcoming, caring, respectful, and safe learning environment, staff supervise dismissal to support students in connecting with their guardians. We also understand that some families prefer their child to walk home on their own. If this is your preference, completing the form ensures we have accurate records to support your child’s safe transition home.
