Hello Somerset Families!
We are excited to share that SPIRIT Day is happening this Thursday, June 5! Thanks to the wonderful efforts of our School Council and the Friends of Somerset School Foundation, our students are in for a fun-filled day that celebrates community, connection, and school spirit.
Students will enjoy a variety of engaging outdoor activities throughout the day, and we are incredibly grateful to the many volunteers who have stepped forward to help make this event such a success. Your time, energy, and generosity are truly appreciated.
In addition to the activities, there will be a Healthy Hunger Hot Dog Fun Lunch and a Bake Sale, both of which promise to be a highlight for students. Please note, the deadline to order your hot dog lunch yesterday, Saturday, May 31!
Families are warmly invited to stop by during the day to observe the fun and visit the Bake Sale table to purchase a treat!

Supporting Student Leadership - Toonies for Trees!
Our amazing Kindergarten team is excited to launch a special initiative that raises both awareness and support for an important environmental cause, Saving the Whitebark Pine Tree!
To kick off this meaningful project, conservationists recently visited our kindergarten classrooms to introduce the students to the cause and share ways we can all make a difference.
We’re inviting the entire Somerset community to join in:
June 2–12: “Toonies for Trees” Fundraiser
Students and families are encouraged to donate a toonie (or any amount) to help protect and restore the whitebark pine, a vital part of our Canadian ecosystem.
June 19: School-Wide Celebration
We’ll come together to recognize Somerset Strong’s contribution to the Whitebark Pine Ecosystem Foundation of Canada and celebrate our students’ leadership and community spirit.
To learn more about how your donation helps, please visit: https://whitebarkpine.ca/
We are so proud of our youngest learners for stepping up and sharing their voices in such a powerful way. Thank you, Somerset families, for supporting their leadership journey and helping them see the impact they can make in the world around them.
